Led the planning, conceptual design, and implementation of an enhanced landfill alarm system featuring real-time monitoring and alert capabilities. Modernized environmental monitoring infrastructure to improve response times to critical events such as leachate level exceedances and landfill gas system irregularities. The project improved operational reliability, reduced regulatory risk, and strengthened post-closure monitoring effectiveness.
Designed and implemented a comprehensive VBA-based data management system supporting both Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) operations and landfill environmental monitoring programs. Automated data collection, validation, trending, reporting, manifest generation, and chain-of-custody tracking. The system significantly reduced manual effort, improved data accuracy, enhanced regulatory compliance, and supported long-term environmental decision-making.
Developed and implemented standardized landfill gas probe testing procedures for Midway and Kent Highlands Landfills. Established scientifically based purge-time methodologies using probe depth, diameter, and pump capacity calculations to ensure representative sampling. The project improved data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory defensibility while reducing errors associated with improper sampling practices.
